Summary
We are seeking a Service Writer and Parts Advisor to join our team in our Sumas location. The Service Writer / Parts Advisor will be responsible for supporting the daily operations of both the Service and Parts departments. This position acts as a key point of contact for customers, ensuring accurate service documentation, timely communication, and efficient coordination of parts and service activities.

Responsibilities
Service Department
- Process service work orders, including opening, updating, and closing.
- Prepare and verify invoices in accordance with approvals from the Service Manager
- Maintain accurate customer and equipment records in the system
- Coordinate service scheduling and communicate timelines with customers
- Conduct customer follow-ups and support service-related inquiries
- Assist with warranty administration, including submissions, follow-ups, and documentation
- Support service campaigns and manufacturer program requirements
- Maintain organized service files and documentation
- Assist with accounts payable related to service operations as required
Parts Department
- Assist with parts inventory control, stocking, and organization.
- Pick and supply parts to customers and technicians.
- Monitor parts shortages and communicate with the Parts Manager to expedite orders
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of parts storage areas
- Ensure accuracy in parts transactions and inventory records
- Support merchandising and promotional activities
- Participate in general maintenance and upkeep of the parts department
Requirements
- Post-Secondary Education or combination of related experience and skills
- Experience in a service, parts, or dealership environment preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and/or industry knowledge considered an asset
- Proficient in computer systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license
Work Conditions
- Fast-paced service office and shop environment
- Frequent interaction with customers, technicians, and internal departments.
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends during peak seasons as required
- Occasional physical activity, including lifting parts and operating equipment (e.g., forklift)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move parts and equipment as required
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and desk work
- Manual dexterity required for computer and administrative tasks
Compensation
- $28-$32 per hour depending on experience
